Autumn Training: Beat the Cold, Keep the intensity

Summer's over, and autumn's here! But football season is in full swing, so let's make sure those chilly training sessions are productive. Here are some top tips for cold-weather training..

Warm-Up with a Twist:

Ditch the usual routine and try a fun, engaging warm-up that gets the blood pumping and the mind focused. Tag games, agility drills, or anything that involves lots of movement and minimal standing around is perfect. QUICKPLAY’S range of Agility Training Equipment can make for some great interactive warm-ups.

Plan Ahead:

Minimize downtime by setting up all your drills before training starts. The range of QUICKPLAY Cones and markers can be great for this as they allow you to differentiate drills easily. And remember, plan your entire session beforehand so players aren't left shivering while you think on your feet.

Keep it Moving & Layer Up:

Avoid long huddles and stoppages. Deliver coaching points on the go, working with individuals one at a time. Keep drinks breaks short too. Remind players to dress warmly. Base layers are a great option for staying warm without restricting movement.

With a little planning and the right gear, winter training can be just as productive as summer sessions. Let's make this a season to remember!
